The Manawatu Herald. Thursday, May 18, 1911. NOTES AND COMMENTS.

A rumour has been going round to the effect that the boundary of the Manawatu electorate will be altered, as a result ot the census,by the Commissioners before next election, and that Martou and one or two other portions of the northern area will be merged into some other electorate and Shannon and other northern portions of the Otaki electorate merged into Manawatu. In conversation with Mr Newman last night on the subject he informed us that it was impossible for any one to say what the Commissioners would do. It is almost a certainty, however, that there will be an alteration in the Manawatu ami Otaki electoral boundaries.
