FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD. Pursuant to section 6 of “The Harbours’ Amendment Act, 1910,” and section II of “The Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908.” J HEREBY give notice that GIBBS, Albert John HENNESSY, Philip Joseph PERREAU, Mark Edwin RIMMER, Thomas were duly nominated as candidates for the office of Member of Foxton Harbour Board, and as the number of candidates exceeds the vacancies to be filled, I hereby publicly notify that an Election, for two members, will take place in the Council Chamber, on Wednesday the 26th day of April, 1911. Polling hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dated this 20th day of April, igil. ALF. FRASER, Returning Officer. WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD. TO THE ELECTORS OF PALMERSTON NORTH, FOXTON & DISTRICT. Ladies & gentlemen.— On the day of the Municipal Elections you will be asked to vote for two members of the Wellington Harbour Board. As Palmerston N. is assured' of one member, it is Thought that the other should be selected from the residents of the districts outside. Personally, I am satisfied there will be no desire on the part of any fairfninded elector to confine both seats to. the residents of Palmerston North. At a meeting of the representatives of Feilding Borough, Kiwitea, Manawatu, Pohangina, Oroua and Kairanga Counties, held on 31st March, it was decided to support my candidature for the second seat, leaving the representation of Palmerston North and surrounding districts in the capable hands of Mr Cohen. I am therefore emboldened to solicit your votes on the polling day. It is hardly necessary for me to say that I have seen considerable service on local bodies in this district, and have had a long and extensive connection with business and financial affairs. As a large importer and considerable owner of town and country property, I am interested in preventing the infliction of burdensome wharfage charges or the imposition of rates on country lands to provide for the upkeep of Wellington Harbour, while, if elected, I shall strongly oppose extravagance or unnecessary borrowing. I am largely interested in the sheep-farming industry, and consequently may be depended on to see that the primary producers, who at present have no representative on the Board, shall have their interests carefully looked alter. Should you do me the honour to elect me, in conjunction with one of the Palmerston North candidates, 1 shall endeavour to do my duty as a representative of the whole district. 1 have the honour to remain, Your obedient servant, JOHN G. COBBE. Feilding, 10th April, ,1911. WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD DISTRICT. ELECTION OF TWO REPRESENTATIVES. I HEREBY notify that the undermentioned persons have been duly nominated for the office of Representative of the Wellington Harbour Board ABRAHAM, Richard Slingsby COBBE, John George COHEN, Maurice HAYDON, Henry.
