It is divided into four Infantry Battalion Groups, and subdivided into four Areas as follows: WELLINGTON GROUP. Consisting of Areas Nos. 17, 18, 19 and 20. Officer in charge of Group; Lieut. 1 A. M. Headquarters: Gar- 1 rison Hall, Buckle street,Wellington. 1 Area No. 17—Consisting of the Borough of Miramar and that part of the City of Wellington to E. and S. of a line from Polhill Gully to Aro street, hence by Aro, Wordsworth, Webb, Arthur, Buckle and Ellice streets to the top of the Plantation i Reserve, hence northward along crest of ridge to Boundary road, hence east by Boundary road to the sea. Area No. 18 —Bounded on the south by Area No. 17, on the east and northeast by the Borough of Karori, hence by the tram line, Glenbowie road, Sydney, Charlotte and Bunny streets to the sea. Area Sergt.-Major Davis, R. J. Headquarters: Garrison Hall, Buckle street, Wellington. Area No. ig—Consisting of that part of the City of Wellington north of Area No. 18, also the County of Makara and that part of the County of the Hutt lying to the west of the western watershed of the Hutt river. Area Sergt.-Major Corkhill, J. J. Headquarters: Garrison Hall, Buckle street, Wellington. Area No. 20—Consisting of the County of the Hutt, except that part to the west of the western watershed of the Hutt river. Area Sergt.-Major Millett, M. L. Headquarters : Drill Hall, Lower Hutt. MANAWATU GROUP. Consisting of Areas Nos. 21, 22, 23 and 24. Officer in charge of Group : Lieut. F. G. Hume. Headquarters: Drill Shed, Wanganui. Area No. 21 —Consisting of the Counties of Wanganui (W. of the Turakina River) and Waitotara (S. of the Kai Iwi and an E. and W. line from it, through Pt. 880. to the Wanganui River). Area Sergt.-Major G. Walker. Headquarters: Drill Shed, Wanganui. Area No. 22—Consisting of the Counties of Rangitikei, Wanganui (E. of the Turakina River) and Kiwitea (N. of 40deg. E. long.) Area Sergt.-Major Brighting, H. L. Headquarters: Hunterville. Area No. 23 —Consisting of the Counties of Kiwitea (S. of 4odeg. E. long.), Pohangina, Oroua and Manawatu (N. of an E. and W. line through Taikoria Hill). Area Sergt.-Major Morrison, J. Headquarters : Drill Hall, Feilding. Area No. 24 —Consisting of the Counties of Kairanga, Manawatu (S. of an E. and W. line through Taikoria Hill) and Horowhenua. Area Sergt.-Major Dovey, E. C. Headquarters: Palmerston North. EAST COAST GROUP.
Consisting of Areas Nos. 25, 26, 27 and 28. Officer in charge of Group ; Lieut P. W. Skelley. Headquarters : Drill Hall, Napier. Area No. 25 —Consisting of the Counties of Cook and those portions of the Counties of Waiapu, Opotiki, Waikohu, Whakatane and Wairoa (N.E. of a line from the mouth of the Waikara River to the point where the N. boundary of the district strikes the Te Hoe River) which are included in the Wellington District. Area Sergt.-Major Bishop, J. Headquarters : Drill Hall, Gisborne. Area No. 26 —Consisting of those portions of the Counties of Wairoa (S.W. of a line from the mouth of the Waikare River to the point where the N. boundary of the district strikes the Te Hoe River), Hawke’s Bay and East Taupo (E. of the Kaimanawa range) which are included in the Wellington District. Area Sergt.-Major Steel, J. W. Headquarters: Drill Hall, Napier. Area No. 27—Consisting of the Counties of Waipawa, Waipukurau, Patangata, Dannevirke, Weber, Woodville, Pahiatua and Akitio. Headquarters ; Drill Hall, New Plymouth. Area No. 30— Consisting of the Counties of Stratford, Eltham and Whangamomona. Area Sergt.-Major Dallinger, J. T. Headquarters : Stratford.
