PRESBYTERIAN MISSION.

The mission being conducted by Mr and Mrs Gumming, the Scottish singing evangelists, in the local Presbyterian Church continues to be well attended. On Saturday night there was a large attendance to hear the lantern lecture on “a trip to Scotland.” The various scenes were beautifully depicted and graphically explained, interspersed with spiritual applications. On Sunday, the morning and evening services were well attended and much appreciated. Last night Mr Gumming told the story of his life or that part of it which dealt more particularly with his spiritual awakening. He made a stirring appeal to his hearers to accept Christ. Mr and Mrs Gumming sang a duet and the solo “My Mother’s Prayer” was sung with great expression by Mrs Gumming. The services will be continued every evening till Friday when the mission closes. On Thursday afternoon Mrs Gumming will conduct a meeting for women only.
