SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The ordinary monthly meeting of tIK above was held on Thursday evening. Present: Messrs Horn blow (chairman), Betty (secretary), Bullard, Geo. Coley, Henderson, Hussey, and Alex. Speirs. The headmaster reported the average attendances for the past lour weeks were: 291 ‘6, 299*1, 308, and 306*2 ; the average for the whole period being 301*2 out of an average roll number of 321 ; the present roll number is 323. Other minor matters were referred to in the report, which was adopted. The sub committee’s action re levelling and clearing old school site was endorsed, as was the Chairman’s action re ordering sanitary pans. The matter of lopping trees and procuring grass seed was left in the hands of Mr Geo. Coley. The attendance was considered satisfactory and the hope was expressed that the average would continue over 300 during the winter monthsIt was reported that hose for the school gardens was to be procured out of the garden funds. It was decided to apply to the Board to attend to some minor repairs at the headmaster’s residence. The visitors’ report was received. Messrs Hussey and Speirs were appointed visitors for the month. Several accounts were passed for payment and the meeting rose.
