ACROSS THE RANGES.

FROM OTAKI TO GRKVTOWN, Mr W. H. Field, M.P., is taking a party, of which Mr 13. C. Aston (Government Chemist). Mr lismond Atkinson (artist), Mr J. Y. Wardrop (secretary of the School Commissioners), and others from Otaki are members, across the Tararuas from Otaki to Greytown. The party started yesterday morning. They travel via Judd’s Track and Mount Reeves, and hope to get to Grey town on Sunday evening. Mr Field, whose favourite pastime is wandering among the Tararua Ranges, is very enthusiastic upon the subject of the magnificent alpine flowers to be found on the mountain tops.
