WAIRARAPA TRAIN SERVICE.

Wellington, March 13. After considering views of recent deputations regarding the Wairarapa train service the Minister for Railways has announced the following alterations to come into operation on April Ist: — The 5.25 a.m. Cross CreekWood ville train is cancelled. In its stead a train leaves Masterton at 6.20, arriving at Woodville at 9.40, connecting with the train from Dannevirke which will arrive at Palmerston at 11.5, not ix. 25 as at present. The 6.45 a.m. Dannevirke - Palmerston Is cancelled, and in lieu thereof a train will leave Dannevirke at 8.20 arriving at Palmerston at 11.5 instead of 11.25 as at present. The Woodville-Wairarapa 8.15 a.m. train is replaced by a train leaving Woodville at 6.10 a.m. The train now leaving Palmerston at 7 a.m. will leave at 4.45 a.m. connecting at Woodville with the 6.10 a.m. for Wairarapa. Passengers from Palmerston N. to Wairarapa will require to travel by 4.45 instead of 6 a.m. train as at present. Otherwise they will miss the connection with the South-bound Woodville-Waira - rapa train and will have to wait for five hours at Woodville. An afternoon train from Wellington to Masterton will leave at 4,35 instead of 3.36 and arrive at Masterton at 9 instead of 8 p.m- as now.
