“OUR KING! MAY HEAVEN GOARD HIM.”

The following verses have been composed by Henry Branch and set to music by Ernest A. Dicks :

Throughout a Realm most royal Where'er the winds may sweep, Where’er the brave and loyal Britannia’s watch-word keep. Far, far beyond the ocean, On mountain and on plain, Raise now a chorus stately, Raise now a fervent strain. Our King! mav Heaven guard him, That glorious he may be, As Lord of mighty Britain And monarch of the sea. From out the pomp and glory, With which he takes his crown, There sounds an ancient story, Of honour and renoun; Yet dim the olden splendour To that which late we knew. The Queen of matchless wisdom. The son so tried and true. Our King! etc. As Britain’s “Happy Keeper” True to his father’s name, - Inspired by mom ries deeper Than human lips can frame. King George with courage dauntless Goes forth upon his wav, The love of God and people His guerdon and his stay. Our King! etc. *Eud-iViini iuciihs I hippy Warden or Keeper.
