CRICKET.

At Himataugi, yesterday afternoon, the competition for the Austin Shield was continued, Foxton defeating the home team by 21 runs, after a very interesting game. Himataugi batted first, and compiled 75, of which Redgrave, by sound batting, contributed 51 and Barber 14. The rest of the batsmen were only able to make seven between them. Of the Foxton bowlers, Kdlin was far and away the best, his trundling being particularly good. In fielding, yesterday’s display was the best shown by Foxton this season. Foxton scored 96, the chief scores being Whibley 23, Robinson (retired) 21, Howe 13, Holt 10 and Kvaus xo. The visiting team was most hospitably entertained at afternoon tea by the Himataugi team.
