WEDDING.

G UTHRIE—STUNN ELL

A very prelly wedding was celebrated in lire local Methodist Church yesterday morning, when Mr H. Guthrie, of Feilding, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony by the Kev. P. J. Mairs to Miss Lois, third daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Stunuell, of Foxtou. The bride, who was “ given away ’ ’ by her father, was charmingly attired in a Swiss embroidered robe and wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms and carried a handsome bouquet ot asters. She was attended by Miss Rose Stunnell (sisterl who wore a white embroidered robe and crinoline hat and carried a pretty shower bouquet of tiger lilies and maiden hair ferns. Mr F. J. Roberts (Feilding) officiated as groomsman. The service was fully choral, Mr G. H. Stiles presiding at the organ. The hymn, “ The Voice that Breathed o’er Eden,” was sung as the wedding party entered the church. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a handsome silver set of toilet requisities, and to the bridesmaid a gold dagger brooch set with pearls. As the party left the church they had to run the gauntlet and were pelted with rice and coutetti. Motor cars conveyed the wedding party to the home of tbs bride’s parents where a sumptuous breakfast was partaken of aud the usual toasts honoured. The presents, which were numerous and costly, included several substantial cheques. The bride’s going-away dress was a navy blue tailor-made costume aud black silk crinoline hat with ostrich leathers. Mr and Mrs Guthrie left by motor car tor Wanganui, where the honeymoou will be spent prior, to settling down at Feilding.
