AUCKLAND’S NEW BISHOP.
Auckland, February 23. After long and earnest deliberation the Anglican Synod decided yesterday to ask Archdeacon Crossley, of Geelong, to accept the vacancy caused by the resignation of Bishop Neligau. When the Synod opened this afternoon the president announced that he had received the follow, ing cablegram from Archdeacon Crossley : “ Humbly accept your call. May prayers in all churches be made for humility, courage and grace.” The stipend of the Auckland See is ,£IOOO per annum.
