BOXING.
LANGFORD DEFEATS LANG. London, February 21. In the fight between Bill Lang (Australia’s champion heavyweight) and Langford (the coloured heavyweight) the former was disqualified for hitting Langford while he was on his knees. Lang was hopelessly outclassed. The Star, describing the match, says Langford repeatedly forced Lang into a corner and administered heavy rights and lefts. Lang went down for nine seconds in the second round and for eight in the third. He improved a bit in the fourth, and hit Langford lightly several times. In the filth round Lang took heavy punishment, and in the sixth he .was very weak, Langford repeatedly hitting him. Lauglord slipped. Lang hit him and was instantly disqualified.
