ATTEMPTED MURDER.

ACCUSED MAN MISSING. Auckland, Feb. 10. At Te Awamutu, George Washington Long was charged with the attempted murder of Thomas Higgiuson Bond, at Wharepuhanga on February and. It was repotted that Bond had sold his farm and had not been seen since Wednesday. A warrant was issued for his arrest, Kong being admitted to bail ; self at £IOO and two sureties of ,£SO each. It was alleged for the defence that Bond seriously assaulted Long’s wife, and that the shot was fired to induce Bond to shoot Long, also that if Long had wished he could have caused his | shot to be fatal.
