MOUTOA SCHOOL.

The annual picnic of the Moutoa School was held on Friday in Dr. Wall’s ground. There was a large number present and a most enjoyable time was spent by all. After lunch games and races were indulged in. Thanks are due to Messrs Hennessy (lollies), Gunning (nuts), Evans Bros., (a cake), Mrs Hamer (workbox) and Mrs Carroll (fruit). Each pupil received a handsome book and every child on the ground received a present.

General arrangements were in the hands of Messrs Young and Galland (headmaster). The ladies committee consisting of Mesdames Young, Dudson and Galland, worked energetically in attending to the wants of all. Mr Saunders (chairman of the school committee), presented the prizes. The following is the prize list: —St. VI., A Bowe and A. Burr i. St. V., A. Nimmo (Mr Greig’s special) i, R. Dudson 2, F. Dudson 3. St. VI., H. Pigott (Mr Greig’s special) 1, R. Coker 2, H. Coley 3. St. ill., D. Bowe (Mr Greig’s special) 1, E. Carroll 2, T. Ropoaua 3. St. 11., V. Burr (Mr Greig’s special) i, H. Coker 2, R. Nimmo 3. Si. 1., W. Dudson (Mr Greig’s special) 1, E. Bowe 2, E. Coley and J. Newth 3. After presenting the prizes Mr Saunders called for cheers for those who had assisted in providing a good day’s pleasure. Special prizes given by Mr Park will be awarded at the end of first term.
