WELLINGTON MEETING. The Wellington Racing Club brought their summer meeting to a close on Wednesday last. The attendance was good and some of the finishes were interesting. The total amount put through the totalisator for the three days was as compared with ,£51,. 061 for last year. Twenty bookmakers were licensed. Following are the results :

Ryan, each to two of the grooms in the stable, and his valet and butler each came in for ,£IOOO. It transpires that the new owners of ihe Conqueror mare Wairoto are Messrs J. Whyte and E. Rowlands, two well-known sportsmen at Tokomaru. They have handed the mare to F. Porter to train for her future racing career.

Mrs E. Robinson, the owner of Notorious, has an animal to take the place of the chestnut who had to be shot as the result of an accident at the last Woodville meeting. The newcomer is Cauorus, a gelding by Piccolo from Jet. He is expected to make a worthy addition to the ranks of the jumping brigade.
