BRISBANE DROWNING CASE.
Brisbane, January 24. The three firemen, Hill, Saddler and Martin, belonging to the steamer Waipara, who were drowned in the river yesterday, boarded the steamer Manila instead of the Waipara. They had been directed to the proper wharf, and made towards the water. Hill walked straight into the water ; Martin went to his assistance, and Saddler subsequently went alter the others. All were struggling together in deep water. A man named Dunn, from another steamer, plunged in, but the men pulled him under, almost drowning him, and he had to struggle to free himself. The others sank. When recovered their bodies were locked together.
