EDUCATION BOARD.
(By Telegraph—Special to Herald,) Wanganui, This Day. The ordinary meeting of the above was held last night. Present: —Messrs F. Pirani (chairman), Aldridge, Dixon, Fraser, O’Dea, Purnell, Spurdle and Guthrie, M.P, Resignations; —J. M, Gibbons, Riverton ; F. Bauckhatn, Ashhurst ; H. M. Geater, Ohakune ; I. E, Wilson, Queen Park; Schidt, Bunuythorpe ; E. F. Brenn, Pipiriki ; M. A. Tretnewan, Hunterville ; D. C. Bamber, Main South Rd. ; T. Moorecroft, Sedgebrook ; M. A. Harris, Terrace End, Appointments : Miss Ross, Denlair ; D. D. Henderson, Stanway ; Miss Gibson, Silverhope ; C. P. Bates, Rewa; Miss Wilson, Wangaehu. Various applications for transfer were referred to the Chief Inspector. Resolved to supply forty-eight dual desks to Foxton. The Education Department has published a series of temperance wall sheets which are to be distributed among the schools of the Dominion. Mr Fraser reported having sold the old Foxton school for and was authorised to get certain work done in Foxton. The Board adjourned till 25th January.
