For reply, the Maoi i ■.■.•as i<;H in tiembling accents that she was a “black pig,” and the husband was railed in to inlet let c. At Marlon, a constable was infonued ot the oecitncnce, and h was asked to attest the Maoii ami take proceedings in tbe matter, a gentleman in the carriage haiideo the constable bis card and oliering to go as a witness. The constable spoke to the offending woman in Maoii, ?xhorling her to keep her hands to berseli or she would gel into trouble ; but there the incident seemed to end, for, although the lady assaulted got out at Marlon, the Maori;; proceeded on the journey unmolested, 'iiieie was considerable indignation amongst tbe passengers in the train over the unpleasant incident.—.
