CRICKET.

At Melbourne vi Wednesday the weather was beautiful and the wicket good for the continuation of the second test match between Australia and South Africa. The attendance was very large. Australia compiled 327 in their second inniugs, making a total for the two innings of 675. Requiring 170 to win South Africa commenced their second innings with great hopes. Strieker opened with Sherwell, but only one run had been scored when the first wicket fell. However, South Africa could not stand up to the bowling of Cotter and Witty and were all disposed of for 80 runs, leaving Australia again victorious by 89 runs.
