TWO BODIES RECOVERED. “PETER THE PAINTER’’ AT LARGE. London, January 4. It is now definitely announced by the police that only two bodies were found by the police iu the ruins of the house iu Sidney Street, Stepuey, where yesteruay’s battle between the police and military and the Anarchists wanted for the Houndsditch outrage took place. (Due of the wanted men, “Peter the Painter,” is still uucaptured. Owing to the fragmentary nature cf the remains there was some uncertainty as to the number of bodies represented by them, and previous reports stated that “Peter the Painter,” as well as the other man wanted, “Fritz,” and a man named Jacobs has been burned to death. There is definite evidence that the Anarchists fired the house. The police believe that “Peter the Painter ” and Fritz did not reside together, but kept iu close communication by means of women, including Bessie Gershon, in whose room in Sidney Street the police discovered Fritz and Peter. Bessie was arrested prior to the attack. The Daily Telegraph says an English girl was lured to the house by a couple of foreigners and ill-treated. Information was subsequently given to the police, and the men were identified as Fritz and Peter, the third man being named Kozen. This led to the raid. A BODY IDENTIFIED. London, January 5. Twelve Mauser rifles and several Browning pistols have been found in the ruins at Sidney Street. Of the two dead bodies, ouly that of the man “Fritz” otherwise Svaars, has been identified. The police are convinced that both men were present at the Houndsditch shooting.
