MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
| QUARTERLY RETURNS. The Clerk of the Court (Mr F. Woods) has supplied us with the following returns of the business transacted at the local Court | during the quarter ended Dej cember 31st 1910 : i During the quarter there were i three ordinary and one special ! sittings of the Court presided over !by the Magistrate and 18 by j Justices. I civil, business. ! Thirty-five civil cases were heard, | the amount sued for being ,£379 5 s \ 9d and the amount recovered ,£l6O j 9s 4b. The number ol plaints entered 1 was 43, 6 disress warrants and 5 judgment summons were issued. 75 summonses were served and eight warrants executed. Civil fees amounting to 12s were paid in stamps. CRIMINAL. Thirty-three persons were summoned or apprehended, discharged for want of evidence, 4 dismissed, 19 fined, 1 imprisoned, 6 orders made and 3 were convicted and discharged. | OLD AGE I'EN.SIONS. ; Three additional old age [ pensions were granted and one is j pending.
