ODDFELLOWS’ LODGE.
The half-yearly meeting of the Loyal Foxton Lodge was held in the Good Templar Hall on December 20th. There was a good attendance of members, and a number of visiting brethren were also present. One new member was initiated into the order. The balance-sheet showed that the Lodge had made very satisfactory progress during the year, and is now in a sound financial position. The following officers were installed into their various chairs for the ensuing term : —N.G., Bro G. S. Wliibley ; V.G., Bro F. Vertongen ; G.M., Bro W. Lacey , W., Bro C. Schultz ; 1.G., Bro W. J. Nye ; 0.G., Bro A. \V. Bangs ; P.S. Bro R. Johnstone ; auditors, Bros W. J. Nye and 11. C. Patterson ; treasurer, Bro W. Nye. Visiting Bro R. Ashmore acted as Installing Master. During the evening the permanent secretary, Bro R. Johnstone, was the recipient of a very handsome present from the officers and members of the Lodge on the occasion of his approaching marriage. The present was suitably acknowledged by Mr Johnstone. P.G.M. Bro Hussey was authorised to receive contributions and transact Lodge business during the secretary’s absence. It was decided to join the St. John’s Ambulance Corps of Wellington with a view of forming a branch in Foxlon, Dr Mandl having signified his willingness to lecture and instruct classes. The general public will be invited to join with the Lodge in this matter.
