KING’S PRIZE FRAUD.

riGOTT POUND GUILTY. SYDNEY, Dec. 1. Pigott was found guilty of false pretences in respect to obtaining £IOO and a badge by handing in u forged card which, if genuine, would have proved the winning card in the rifle shooting match for the King’s Prize. A strong recommendation to mercy was made on the ground of the previous good character borne by Pigott. The prisoner was sentenced to twelve months’ hard labour, sentence to bo deferred on the finding of sureties tor good behaviour for twelve months. The sureties were imrncdiaoly forthcoming.
