A COUNCILLOR SPEAKS HIS MIND.

At the meeting oi the Waipawa County Council on Wednesday, Councillor Munro spoke with no uncertain sound in reference to the suggestion contained in a letter from the Hon. W. C. Smith: “ That the Council should adjourn till December 6th.” If, said the speaker, the Council was incapable of dealing with matters in the absence of Mr Smith, then he thought it time the members resigned. Mr Smith might be a good man, with a long and useful public career, but he was not the whole Council, and it was time that the members should take definite action themselves, and not be led by one individual who wrote instructions from Wellington.
