CRICKET.
The beating iuflicated by Himatangi on our local cricketers on Wednesday last, is having the effect of making them indulge in a little practice, in order that a better light might be put up next lime the teams meet. The Foxton Club has the making ot some fairly good cricketers if they will only practice. Their batting on Wednesday was decidedly poor, but it must be admitted that the majority of them did not show their true form. Fielding is, and always has been, a very weak spot in our local team and this branch should receive a great deal more attention at practices than it does at present. In the matter of numbers the Club is well situated tor bowlers, although some of them are only mediocre, still they are very useful as changes. On present form the best are : Evans, Eove and Munro. We are certain that at the next match a great improvement will be shown all round.
