MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.
A special meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board was held in the Board’s office last night to receive and discuss the scheme for dealing with Duck Creek. Present: Messrs B. G. Gower (chairman), O. R. Robinson, F. S. Easton, W. S. Carter, and H. G. Hammond.
The engineer, Mr Ward, submitted a plan, which showed the length of Duck Creek to be 67 chains. He proposed to erect a bank 30 feet at the bottom, x 8 feet at the top, and an average height ot three feet.
Mr Hickford’s plans and estimate of banking at Moutoa were also dealt with.
The matter was fully discussed, and it was eventually decided to ask Mr Ward to reduce the size of Duck Creek bank by about one half, and that the Board meet to inspect the Moutoa banks on Wednesday, the 30th instant, at 3 p.m., at Burr’s road. The clerk was instructed to communicate with Messrs Smithv and Edwards, of Moutoa, inviting them to be present at the meeting. ■ -
