ALL SAINTS’ BAZAAR.
All Saints’ bazaar was brought to a close on Thursday night. From every point of view the function was a pronounced success and the members of the Ladies Guild are to be congratulated on bringing the affair to such a successful issue. As is already known the bazaar was held to provide funds for the improvement of the church ground and the amount to be raised aimed at by those responsible for the function was _£ioo. The takings for the two days amounted to just over £BB, which, although A l2 less than the amount hoped for, is highly satisfactory. The expenses are small, being only 14s gd, so that there will be a surplus of over The winners of the weightguessing competitions were: Lamb No. 1, Mrs Woods; lamb No. 2, Miss King ; pig, Mr J. Gillespie. Nail-driving and shooting competitions were well supported on both nights and a large number of articles disposed of in this manner. The following are the names of the stall-holders: Ladies Guild, Mesdames A. S. Easton and Jenks and assistants; produce, Misses Cresswell; sweets, Mrs C. Robinson ; fancy goods, Mrs Woods and six little girls ; refreshments, Mrs Stewart and six little girls ; bran tub, Mrs Nye; tobacco, Misses Nye and Barnard; side shows, Messrs Fowler, Linley and others; nail'driving and shooting, Messrs Boyes and Phillips ; calendar, Miss Symons. The management desires to express their thanks to all those who assisted in any way towards the success of the function.
