BOWLING.

Although the local greeu has not been formally opened, a portion of it is iu readiness tor bowlers and yesterday alteruoou a practice game was indulged by two rinks skipped respectively by Messrs Clemett (21) and Rev. Mairs (joj. A most enjoyable time was spent. The roller has arrived and is 'being used to good effect. Much credit is due to the Kev •Mr Mairs, who has worked strenuously to prepare a portion ot the green for players and there is no reason why players should not now make up for lost time.
