THE CRIPPEN SENSATION.

London, Nov. 8. Mr Tobin, K.C., the lawyer who defended Hawley Crippen, condemned to death for the murder of his wife at Camden road, has received from Philadelphia a report to the effect that Belle Jilmore (Mrs Crippen’s stage name) is alive, and living near Chicago. A petition is being prepared praying for a reprieve for Crippen, on the ground that there is grave doubt as to his guilt.

The date of the execution olf Crippen has been fixed for the 23rd inst.

The appeal of William Broome,, sentenced to death at Loudon for the murder of Mrs Isabella Wilson, a widow, aged seventy—the motive for the crime being robbery—was dismissed.
