PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH.

The annual synod of the Wellington District Primitive Methodist Church opens in Foxton on Thursday next. At 9.30 a.m. the Synod will be opened by the retiring chairman ; at 2.30 p.m. a civic welcome will be accorded the delegates by His Worship the Mayor ; at 6.30 p.m. there will be a tea-meeting in the Methodist schoolroom and at 8 p.m. a public meeting will be field in the Church, particulars of which are advertised elsewhere In this issue, on Friday at 9 a.m. MrF, Frost, candidate for the ministry, will preach a trial sermon ; 10 a.m., Synod business ; 8 p.m., Social and public meeting at Shannon ; chairman, Rev. J. Southern; speakers, Revs. P. Cossum and C. A- Sims. Solos and anthems.
