THE BEACH ROAD.

A special meeting of the Manawatu County Council was held on Tuesday, at which Crs J. G, Wilson (chairman), J. Henson, T. Masters, R. B. McKenzie, and H. S. Hunt were present. Accounts to the amount of ,£4Bl 15s were passed tor payment. It was decided to give notice to the Foxton Borough Council (and forward plans, specifications, and estimate) of the intention of the Manawatu County Council to apply under section 119 of the Public Works Act of 1908 to the Governor for power to construct a road to the Foxton beach from the western boundary of the Foxton Borough to the Manawatu Heads, the Borough and County Council to pay half each, as well as to send copies of plans, etc., and the notice to the Minister of Public Works,
