OTAKI MEETING.
The Otaki Maori Racing Club’s spring meeting was commenced yesterday. The weather was very bad, being showery throughout the day, and a very heavy hailstorm was also experienced. Taking everything into consideration the attendance was very satisfactory. The following are the results : Flying Handicap.—Gipsy Bell 1, Dearest 2, Thetis 3. Maiden Handicap Hurdles.— Himatangi x, Pakau 2, Castup 3. Te Hiwi Memorial Stakes.— Notorious 1, Teotane 2, Torpolnt 3Maiden Plate.—Golden Age 1, Eva 2. Labour Day Handicap.—Llanwern 1, Astraea 2, St. 3. Hack Hurdle Handicap.—Te Ru 1, Makirl 2, Rosegrove 3. Stewards Hack Handicap*— Turna i, Rongomai 2, Master Sylvia 3. Welter Hack Handicap.— Highden 1, Captain Bell 2.
