THE CAUSE OF CONSTIPATION. The most common cause of constipation is a lack of exercise necessary to keep the muscles of the bowels active. That is why constipation is often brought on by too frequent use of purgatives. They act violently, performing the work of the bowels for them, and so weaken them that they will not act without assistance, Chamberlain’s Tablets will cure constipation because instead of doing the work of the bowels they gently stimulate them to voluntary action. A MISFAKEN NOTION. There is a prevailing opinion that it is dangerous to stop diarrhoea too suddenly. That may be the case when an astringent medicine is used, but there is not the least danger of stopping it too quickly when Chamberlain’s Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy is taken, as it is not an astringent, and stops the diarrhoea by curing the disease that caused it.
