In February last the body of a man was found floating in the river. From certain marks on the arm a woman identified the body as that of her husband’s, whom she had not seen for nine years. After the inquest the coroner granted the necessary certificates and the woman drew the insurance money. Since then she has married again and was living happily until last week, when her husband suddenly returned. It appears that he has been living in Wales and has not been in Preston for a considerable period. Much sympathy is expressed for the woman in her unfortunate position. When the original husband returned, the second “ husband ” left her. “ We have been so happy together, and I hope he comes back to me,” she declared tearfully. A beautiful assortment ot electroplate goods, brooches, engagement rings, etc., at Parkes’ jewellery establishment, Main St.*
