UNKNOWN MAN DECAPITATED. Timaru, August 29. A man whose name is unknown was killed on the railway this morning about a mile from Pleasant Point. As the train was approaching a culvert the man who was hidden from view beneath the rails, stood up, and the engine severed his head from his body. Nelson, August 29.

Arthur Tomlinsiou, licensee of the Top House Hotel, died suddenly on Saturday afternoon. At the inquest to-day a verdict of heart failure was returned.
