SUPREME COURT.
PALMERSTON SITTINGS. The Palmerston North sittings of the Supreme Court commenced yesterday morning before his Honour Mr Justice Cooper. True bills were found against James Audlev Register, indecent assault , William Walker and John Hayes, theft ; Arnold Charles Harold Palenski, incest; Thomas O’Connor, theft, Archibald Muir was brought up for sentence in connection with the Longburn Freezing Works case. Mr H. R. Cooper addressed the court on accused’s behalf and asked for leniency. Muir was sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment. James Audley Register, alias Crawford, a young man, 31 years of age, pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 12 years, at Bulls. His Honour sentenced accused to two years’ hard labour.
