It is rather disappointing to learn that the Minister for Public Works cannot see his way to recommend a subsidy towards the construction of the Beach road, especially in view of the fact that the Government is interested in the settlement at the Beach. Perhaps the Minister is not conversant with the details and a deputation as suggested by Mr Newman, M.P., might enlighten him on the subject and induce him to alter his opinion.
