MOUTOA NOTES.
(Own Correspondent). On Friday last the usual weekly meeting of the social club was held in Gardner’s Hall. In the course of the evening a presentation of a handsome dressing case was made to Mr Gardner who is leaving the district. Mr Galland, in making the presentation, referred to the many ways in which Mr Gardner had so willingly assisted the social club, and wished him, on its behalf, prosperity and success in his new sphere of life. Three hearty cheers were then given for Mr Gardner. After supper dancing was indulged in for a couple of hours—music being supplied by Messrs R. Walden and Prentice. The following contributed songs, Messrs Reeve and Clutterbuck and Mr Carney gave a recitation. A driving competition was won by Miss Effie Newth and Mr P, Hanson.
