JOCKEY FATALLY INJURED.
Christchurch, July 29
When competing in the open steeplechase at Rangiora yesterday, Ivan came to grief, and seriously injured his rider, R. Swinburn, The unfortunate horseman bad one of his ears torn off, and had his head badly damaged. He was removed to a private hospital, but died to-day.
