THE CORONATION OATH.
A PROTEST. London, July 2S. The Protestant Truth Society has entered a protest against the new Coronation Oath on the ground that it does not provide against a mental reservation or a Papal dispensation, and is merely on parallel lines to the oaths taken by Charles 11. and James 11., both of which proved ineffective. The members of the Society marched in procession to Downing Street and cried, “No popery.” The police stopped them from going further.
