PHIL WALSH COMPANY.
On Saturday evening next the popular Phil Walsh Dramatic Company make a welcome re-ap-pearance at the Public Hall, Foxton, in a stirring military drama entitled “ All For Gold.” The drama is based on a true story of the Indian Mutiny and it possesses in a marked degree a plot which rivets the attention from the rise to the fall of the curtain, and abounds in exciting and pathetic situations. The Company have had what might almost be called a “record tour” of the West Coast, playing seasons of six and seven nights each in Greymouth, Westport, Reefton, etc. Our old friend “ Phil” made himself as popular with the ‘ ‘ Coasters ” as he is in the Manawatu, and by his generous donations to different deserving charities, earned for himself the title of “Philanthropic Phil.” The Westport “Whitehaven Disaster Fund” alone benefitting by the substantial sum of £SO contributed by Mr Walsh from his various houses.
