FATAL FALL.
Christchurch, July 22. R. James, who was injured through a fall from a wagon at Rangiora on Monday, died last night without having regained consciousness. Christchurch, July 22. On Wednesday afternoon Hugh Paterson, an engine-driver at the Springfield coal-mine, fell down the shaft, a distance of 80 feet, and sustained injuries from which he died.
