FOOTBALL.
On Saturday afternoon at the racecourse, the last game of the third round of the competition for the Austin Banner, Awahou v. Albion, will be played. This match should provide a most interesting display of football as both clubs will be represented by their strongest teams. On the two previous occasions that those teams have met the games have resulted in draws, neither side being able to penetrate the others defence. Dr Adams has been appointed to control the game. The team to represent Albion against Awahou on Saturday will be picked from the following : Cook (2), Furrie, Dunn, Perewhiti (2), Hukiki, Osboldstone, King, Desmond, Curtis, Haeana, Bowe, Larkins, Jannett, Winiata, Rore, Broad and Royal. The match between the Wellington representative team and the Maoris who have recently returned from their tour of Australia, played at Wellington yesterday resulted in a draw, the scores being 8 points all at the call of time.
