THE FOXTON AMATEURS.
On Friday, August sth, the local amateurs will produce the screamingly funny three act farcical comedy, “ Kleptomania,” at the local Public Hall. This comedy is written by the wellknown author, Mr Mark Melford, whose name is sufficient guarantee that the piece is a good one. The financial arrangements are in the hands of the school committee, and the proceeds will be devoted to the improvement of the school grounds. The production is for such a good object that it is certain there will be a bumper house and those who attend will get a good show for the money, and in addition, will, at the same time, be helping the school committee in their very laudable attempt to make the school grounds a beauty spot instead of a barren waste. The following is the caste of characters for the production - Major-General Blair (unattached), Mr C. Simmons; Professor Andrew Smalley, L.L.D. (Trinity College, Cambridge), Mr J. Golder; Inspector Turbott, Mr R. Bright; Dr. Edward Watly (surgeon in the army), Mr A. H. Boyes; Maytou (the general’s butler), Mr W. E. Bullard; Mr Gathermoss (a pork butcher), Mr A, Imrie; Lady Josephine (wife of Major-General Blair), Mrs Clemett ; Violet (her only daughter), Mrs Boyes ; Rosina (the lady’s maid,) Miss M. Levett; Phoebe (the bedmaker’s daughter), Miss F. Cook; Mrs Gathermoss (wanted by the police), Mr K. H. Furrie. The stage managing is in the capable hands of Dr, Adams.
