AN INTERESTING TABLE,

The following table is an instructive record of the doings of steamers trading to this port for the month ending nth June, 1910 :

May x 2th ; Gertie arrived from Westport. May 13th : Queen of the South ashore on South Spit ; Gertie sailed for Wellington; Kennedy sailed for Puponga. May 14th: Queen of the South still ashore. May 15th: Queen of the South still ashore ; Gertie arrived from Wellington. May 16th : Queen of the South still ashore ; Gertie unable to leave. May 17th : Queen of the South still ashore ; Gertie proceeded to bar (not sufficient water ; Wooton ordered on to Wanganui. May 18th : Queen of the South floated and reached wharf at 5 p.m. ; Gertie proceeded to bar, but not sufficient water to cross. May 19th : Queen of the South and Gertie in port. May 20th : Queen of the South and Gertie sailed for Wellington. May 23rd : Gertie arrived from Wellington ; Gertie sailed for Wellington ; Queen of the South on slip at Wellington. May 24th : Queen of the South

May 25th : Queen of the South proceeded to bar, but returned to wharf unable to cross. May 26th : Queen of the South sailed for Wellington ; Kennedy ordered on to Wanganui. May 28th: Queen of the South arrived from Wellington ; Gertie ordered on to Wanganui. May 29th : Queen of the South in port, no water on bar, remained in port till sth of June when she sailed for Wellington. June ytb : Queen of the South arrived from Wellington ; Gertie stuck on bar floated night tide. June Bth: Queen of the South sailed for Wellington ; Gertie in port, heavy rain stopped discharging. Went on slip to replace two propeller blades broken whilst on bar. June 10th: Gertie in port. June nth; Gertie in port, unable to cross ■ bar owing to heavy sea ; Queen of the South arrived from Wellington
