CONCERT AT OROUA DOWNS.

Mr Betty’s concert party gave one of their performances at Mr Hammond’s Hall, Oroua Downs, last night to a very fair and most appreciative audience. We think we can say without fear of contradiction that: the programme submitted was one of the best that an Oroua Downs audience has had the pleasure of listening to. The bill-of-fare consisted of instrumental items, glees, duets, solos and recitations. A number of items were vociferously encored. The Rev Mr Aitken officiated as chairman. The instrumentalists were Miss Furrie, Messrs Betty. A. J. Kellow and Gabites; vocalists, Mesdames Boyes, Swannel, Misses Jenks, Signal, Messrs Buclass, G. Fowler, W. Cook, A. Jenks and Messrs A. D. Clemett, Clarice and Hornblow gave elocutionary items. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Boyes and Misses Furrie and Jenks. The entertainers received a hearty invitation to pay another visit to the locality when a bumper would be assured.
