SALVATIONISTS HONOURED.
A BAND ADMITTED TO THF COURTYARD. TIIF .SOVEREIGN’S FAVOURITE HYMN. LONDON. May 8. Crowds were outside the. Palace this evening. The distant strain* of a. band were hoard, and then all was suddenly silent, and tiie Salvationists, with a crape-draped banner, appeared. To tiie general surprise, they were admitted to tiie fore-( .'on rt, ot the Palace, where they played (lie King’s favourite hymn, “Nearer My God to Thee.” They then removed their caps and sang, "Abide With Me” (which is the Queen’s favourite hymn), witli great feeling. Tiie public were deeply affected.
