THE MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
Dannevirke, April 20. Messrs W. Haines and E. A. Ransom were to-day nominated for the Mayoralty. Pastor Ries, the present Mayor, does not contest the seat owing to ill-health. Ashburton, April 20. Mr Henry Davis, the present Mayor, was again elected unopposed. This is Mr Davis’s eighth term of office. Feilding, April 20. Messrs Edmund Goodbehere, George Harford, and James Lochhead have been nominated for the office of Mayor. W ooDviLT.it, April 20. Mr D. G. McKibbin has been re-elected unopposed Mayor of Woodville. Napier, April 20. Mr J. Vigor Brown, M.P., was re-elected unopposed as Mayor of Napier. Masterton, April 20. Mr J. M. Coradine has been returned unopposed as Mayor of Masterton in succession to Mr P. L* Hollings. Invercargill, April 20. Councillor W, H, Ott was elected unopposed first Mayor of Greater Invercargill. Oamaru, April 20. Mr Robt. Milligan (the present Mayor) and Mr William H. Paterson were to-day nominated for the Mayoralty. Wanganui, April 20.
Mr C. E. Mackay was elected unopposed for the fifth year in succession as Mayor. Mr John Jones was elected Mayor of Wanganui Hast unopposed. Wellington, April 20. Messrs T. M. Wilford and C. J. Crawford were the only nominees for the City Mayoralty. Nelson, April 20. The Mayoral nominations were Mr Jesse Piper, the present Mayor, and Mr Thos. Pettitt.
Christchurch, April 20. Mr C. Allison was elected Mayor of Christchurch unopposed. Mr McGregor Wright was elected for Woolston unopposed. Hastings, April 20. Mr J. A. Miller was re-elected Mayor unopposed. Pahiatua, April 20.
Mr W. W. McCardle, for many years a Borough Councillor, was to-day elected unopposed as Mayor.
Gore, April 20
Messrs R. L. Christie, John MacGibbou and D. L. Peppellwell were nominated for the Mayoralty. Blenheim, April 20.
Councillors E. H. Penny and J. J. White were to-day nominated for the Mayoralty. Auckland, April 20.
Messrs L. J. Bagnall and P. J. Nerheuy were nominated for the Auckland City Mayoralty. Eltham, April 20. Mr Edwin Parnott has been reelected Mayor unopposed. Palmerston N. April 20.
Mr J. A. Nash has been reelected unopposed as Mayor of Palmerston for another term.
