The Manawatu Herald. Thursday, April 14, 1910. INTERRUPTIONS.
It is very rare that a complaint has to be made against those who frequent the back seats at local entertainments. At last night’s concert, however, apart from the cracking of peanut shells, talking and shuffling of feet were distinctly heard while items were beingrendered. These noises are very disconcerting, particularly to the performers, and generally to the audience. Surely there is sufficient time between the items to crack a joke and commence action on the peanuts without committing a breach of etiquette while an item is in progress. Further, it should be remembered that those ladies and gentlemen who contribute to the programme do so at great personal sacrifice. We hope our young men will discontinue such interruptions in future, for on the whole they are very well behaved.
