CRICKET.
Cricket in Foxton this year has not been played according to the rules of the game referring to the number of players on each side and team s have had to take the field with anything from five to eleven players. Yesterday’s match between United and Foxt«n was no exception, the former muster* iug eight men and the latter six, and it was a case of everybody “scouting.” The game was a most interesting one resulting in a win for United by the very narrow margin of one run. United batted first and knocked up 58 of which Gordon scored 22. Foxton just failed to reach this total by one the last wicket falling with the total at 57, The following are the scores UNITED.
